Liquid or solid fertiliser: choosing and managing applications
Liquid and solid describe forms of fertiliser; they do not by themselves show whether a product suits your plant. Compare intended use, dosage and nutrients already present.
Liquid: check the dilution
The exact product determines dosage and frequency. Use a suitable measuring tool, follow the label and record applications. A dilution intended for an aquarium does not automatically apply to a pot of houseplants.
Solid: check how it releases and is applied
Granules, sticks and other formats may have different directions. Follow the exact product’s guidance for pot volume, placement and duration. “Natural” does not mean harmless or safe to use at any dose.
Avoid combining feeds
Record fertiliser in the potting mix and products already used before adding another source. Compare fertilisers for houseplants, then read the guide to choosing and dosing. For solid products, the guide to solid fertilisers covers specific checks.
